First Day of School 8.30.2012
Yesterday was Isaac and Charlotte’s first day of school. Each time I said the words “first day of school,†Charlotte got a little mad and told me that it was not her first day because she had already been to school last year. She would accept the phrase “first day of first grade.†She can be a little stinker about semantics!
This is the only picture I got before school with no coats on. Isaac wanted the shorts and long sleeves together, Charlotte liked the idea of wearing a dress:
It was a little cold, so they wore their jackets. It was also overcast so Isaac wanted the rain jacket just in case:I got them shoes with laces for the first time. I’ve learned that I’m really terrible at teaching kids to tie shoes:It was the day of the first BYU football game of the year, so I dressed the little girls in BYU gear which only lasted until we got home from the walk to the bus stop:All 5 before school:My less than successful attempt to get a nice picture of them lined up by age:The only picture I managed to take of them getting on the bus:The little girls each insisted on carrying their own “backpacks†(both of them were completely empty):I managed to get their after school snack ready before we walked to the bus stop to pick them up:Remember that post about Nicole carrying things in her clothing? Check out this whistle she wore to the bus stop:Isaac was the first one off the bus. He started running home before Charlotte was even off the bus:Charlotte at least walked a few paces with us before taking off:They both raced home and were soon out of sight while I meandered home with the little girls.
