Nicole’s Birthday Gift Ideas
Before anyone went shopping, I thought I’d post some pertinent info. I hope this isn’t too presumptuous of me. We’re really ok if no-one gets her anything. She is only turning 2, but I know that a grandma or two may be thinking of sending something and I thought this format would be acceptable. If you do buy her a gift on this list that’s not eatable, leave a comment so no one duplicates. If you like the suggestions, I’ll post the same sort of thing for Isaac’s birthday which is a month later.
Clothing info and Sizes:
- She is transitioning from 18 month to 2T clothes (She wears some of both sizes), but I’ve just been sorting through clothes and Nicole has enough shirts and pants and dresses in size 2T to last her the whole year so she doesn’t need any of those.
- She currently wears size 5 shoes and has sufficient shoes for this size. I have the following hand-me-down shoes for her in size 6: 2 pair black Sunday shoes, 1 pair white tennis shoes with laces. So if you want to get her shoes I would only want either white Sunday shoes or Velcro tennis shoes or sandals for her in size 6 (I prefer shoes without cartoon characters or Disney princesses on them, Nicole has no preference—at least not one that I know)
- Her PJ supply is at an acceptable level.
- She should be able to fit into Charlotte’s old swimsuit which is still in good shape (Charlotte has a new swim suit that she got from Grandma Bunny so she shouldn’t be upset about handing it down)
- I will probably buy her more socks and hopefully some underwear this year so those could be possible gifts
Toys:
With 4 kids, it’s best to have toys that are sturdy and last a long time. I’d much rather have one well made toy than 10 cheap ones.
- For Nicole we really like the Playmobil 123 series. They’re sturdy, easily storable, and she enjoys playing with them. She already has the following ones:
- Farmer with tractor
- Truck with garage
- Rescue Helicopter
- We want to get her the Large Farm as her main birthday gift and the Girl with Pets because the figure resembles Nicole. The sets are sold on many websites including Amazon and eBay. (if someone wants to volunteer to buy the girl with pets, we’d be ok with that, but we don’t expect anyone else to spend as much as the farm costs)
Treats:
I have a hard time letting my kids eat large amounts of sugar, but it seems much better if the sugar is disguised in something like a fruit snack. So instead of the candy isle, look in the snack isle for things like 100 calorie bags of cookies or crackers or 4 packs of pudding.
