Birthday Cupcakes
I was going to make Nicole monkey cupcakes since she love Curious George so much, but when I showed her pictures of them on the computer she wasn’t particularly excited. When I showed her these color burst cupcakes she jumped up, yelled cupcakes, and started pretending to eat them.
Lest you get too impressed, you should know that I cheated on the frosting and just bought a can of heavy whipping cream—I just don’t have the skill or equipment to frost a cupcake like that with frosting.
They’re actually not too hard to make. I added food coloring to white cake mix.
Then layered the colors one spoonful at a time so they ended up looking like this:
They look really neat when you cut into them:
Side note: I got the idea from my favorite recipe blog, if you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re really missing out because it’s awesome! (I also bought their cookbook and I LOVE IT).
