Charlotte’s Birthday
Charlotte decided that she wanted to bring chocolate cookies to her class for her birthday. Since she loves to bake with me, I had her make them with me a few days early.
She has a great egg-cracking face:
On her birthday she helped me make chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast:We let her open a few presents before school, including this little pony which she loves to ride around:I picked her up from school at lunchtime for a birthday lunch. I was just going to take her to McDonalds, but as we were driving I gave her a few choices and she wanted Panda Express. I gave her a birthday card from her Grandma Bunny to open while we got situated. She loved it so much that she took it back to school with her.Ila was not happy about going to Panda Express, she refused to try anything and had a short temper tantrum. Thomas tasted the food, but made a terrible mess since he’s at that age where he likes to throw everything on the floor repeatedly. After returning her to school, we went to the store and bought her 7 pink balloons and then spent a little time at home before returning to the school for her birthday celebration:When we arrived in her classroom, she had just finished sharing her “about me” poster and she was answering questions about it. She was so confident and funny. She shares a birthday with another little girl in her class whose name is Taylor. When Charlotte found out that they had the same birthday, she thought that maybe they were twins since they were born on the same day.She wanted to ride the bus home because she said they celebrate birthdays on the bus. I don’t know what that means, but I assume it means they sing to the birthday kid.
Usually on Fridays she only has 15 min after school for a quick snack before we head over to ballet for 2 hours, but their ballet teacher told me that the rest of Nicole’s class wouldn’t be there today and she combined the classes.Right after ballet, we headed over to the church for our ward party. Charlotte was grumpy during dinner so Zach challenged her to a grumpy face contest to cheer her up:She ate 13 cherry tomatoes, but later complained that it wasn’t enough:Her artwork adorned the wall:Charlotte and Nicole dressed as Mary during the program:Charlotte insisted we stay and see Santa too:It was a long, busy day, but we finally had time all together to open the rest of her presents:She got a lot of cooking things including measuring cups, an apron, and cook books:We finished the night with a movie night, but Charlotte was not happy. She said it was her worst birthday ever and that she thought Taylor probably had a better birthday than she did. She was mad that we didn’t have birthday cupcakes and tried to insist that we make some right now. But it was after 9pm and I was exhausted from running around trying to give her a good birthday. So I told her she could make some with me tomorrow, which she wasn’t happy with, but it was the best I could offer her.
The next day she used her new cookbook, apron, measuring cups, and cupcake decorating kit to make her birthday cupcakes:(Charlotte has no fillings, that’s cake on her teeth)
Her last birthday event was an outing with her best friend.
Sounds like an.amazing birthday! What a.great mom you are!
I love the grump contest! That’s hilarious. Happy Birthday Charlotte!
