Thomas is One
Thomas started his special day with a breakfast Banana muffin:
He thinks utensils are wonderful:
It was a late start day for my school kids, which meant Isaac and Charlotte went to school two hours later and Nicole didn’t have preschool. Isaac wanted to entertain Thomas most of the morning. He even made Thomas a special birthday “chair” out of Legos:
Thomas and Ila had a short bath together:
Second breakfast was eggs with ham:
We dropped the big kids off at school and then headed over to the church for playgroup which is basically letting the kids run around in the gym and ride their playthings:
When we got home I gave him some strawberries which he thought were amazing. Then the little girls went outside to play with bubbles. Thomas pointed to the sliding glass door to tell me that he wanted to go out too:
Homemade toys are the best. Thomas spent some putting dominoes in a baby wipe container which was filled with baby food lids:
and he got his chubby little baby hand stuck:
He had a nice nap and a dinner of chicken nuggets:
Thomas figured out how to make his chair hop a little at dinner. He thought it was great, his mom was worried that he’d make his chair fall over. I hope he forgets this little trick by morning.
After dinner, he opened presents. And by opened, I mean he sat near his siblings as they opened his gifts for him. They kept ripping little bits of paper for him and before you know it, the whole gift was unwrapped. The kids were all excited for Thomas’s new toys and had to be reminded to give Thomas the first chance to play with his new things:
His cupcakes were flavored with lemonade and had strawberries on top. I experimented with new ways to slice and decorate with strawberries:
Birthday Song:
Zach’s cousin and his family joined us for the cupcakes and homemade ice cram:
Thomas was still full from dinner and didn’t really sample the cupcakes and only tasted the ice cream. Mostly he just played with the spoon because, as you may remember from early in this post, he likes utensils.
