Best Friends!
I love that my kids are friends. I hope they will always be good friends. They do get in little fights at times, but they get over it and love each other again soon. Today I had a chance to take Charlotte out with me all by herself which does not happen very often. I asked her if she’d rather go with just me or take another kid. She responded that she’d want to bring someone along and instead of just one sister, she wanted all 4 of her siblings to go. Luckily I was able to talk her down to just one sibling.
Ila tells me regularly that “Tommy is my best friend.” She also says that Charlotte is her best friend too, but when I ask her about Nicole, she says “No, I just have two best friends, Tommy and Charlotte.” It surprises me because she plays with Nicole more than any of her other siblings. Nicole goes to school half days 4 days a week. She has Friday off and every Friday, Ila and Nicole have a blast together. They work out pretend scenarios and cooperate on each other’s ideas. It kind of makes me wish Nicole was home all day everyday.
Charlotte has been having lots of fun with Nicole everyday after school. She has decided that Nicole is one of her favorite people to play with.
So sometimes at night I find that one of the little girls has crawled into bed with her sister and I let it slide because although it means it will take them longer to fall asleep, it also strengthen their bond of friendship.
Charlotte was talking with someone who asked her something like “what do you like best about life” and Charlotte responded “sharing a room with my sisters.”
