Easter

I maybe went a little overboard getting Easter things this year.  I wanted Easter hats and new Easter clothes for the kids as well as a small gift for each kid:3.30.13 Easter prepped

The kids thought it looked a little like Christmas.

A few years ago we told the kids that Grandma Bunny is the Easter Bunny and they have remembered this little myth for the last few years.  We encourage the myth by doing things like placing the Easter cards that they received from her in the mail next to the gifts that came from the Easter Bunny.  This year, Charlotte was so excited and felt so honored that HER GRANDMA is the Easter Bunny that she started telling everyone she knows.

The Easter Bunny of my childhood carefully placed jelly beans and other candies all over the house.  It was an adventure to find and collect as many as we could.  It always looked so magical on Easter morning to see everything lined in candy.  Unfortunately, my kid’s Easter Bunny (me) can’t seem to find the energy for such a labor of love.  Their Easter Bunny just threw candy about the carefully cleaned room:3.30.13 Easter prepped (9)3.30.13 Easter prepped (7)3.30.13 Easter prepped (8)3.31.13 Easter morning (7)3.31.13 Easter morning (25)3.31.13 Easter morning (5)3.31.13 Easter morning (6)3.31.13 Easter morning (10)3.31.13 Easter morning (11)3.31.13 Easter morning (12)Flavored milk straws:3.31.13 Easter morning (20)3.31.13 Easter morning (17)

The kids spent much of the day sorting and resorting their candy.  I hope this means that they’re budding organizers:3.31.13 Easter morning (22)3.31.13 Easter morning (2)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (8)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (6)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (7)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (14)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (17)3.31.13 girls in their Easter hats (20)3.31.13 Isaac on Easter3.31.13 Easter morning (26)And the not so perfect only shot I got of all my children in their Easter clothes:3.31.13 all 5 on EasterAfter church we spent the rest of the evening at Zach’s aunt and uncle’s house for an Easter dinner potluck with Great Grandma and others.
