The last two weeks
I was going to try a weekly picture share, but I missed last week. In a way, Facebook has been detrimental to my blogging. It’s just too easy to share pictures and information. Things I used to write more about here are now often shared in a line or two on facebook instead. I am going to try to be better about blogging, even if it seems redundant and I repeat pictures or information.
We had a Monday when there was no school and the weather was nice so we went to the park, twice. We played with one group of friends, went home and then returned with another group.
This is Ila posing for a picture:
Fun with bubbles:
Nicole had way too much fun with the bubbles, after a few hours, it was gone. I think Charlotte thought she could make some more bubble solution with some household items.
Zach installed a shelf in my laundry room so I can spread out my laundry baskets and sort as I pull things out of the dryer.
Nicole making orange juice:
The kids have rediscovered their love of playing starfall.com lately. I took this picture because it amused me to see so many kids gathered around one little computer:
Charlotte and Isaac helped Zach make some planters for a vertical garden. We still need to run the watering system and plant some more things.
The wall of our shed in the backyard:
Sidewalk chalk and water made for a bit of a mess on the back porch:
I found Ila out digging in the garden in her white Sunday dress.
I put starfall on a tablet and Thomas loves it. It makes it much easier for him to play since he doesn’t know how to use a computer mouse.
Ila and a girl I watch posing for a picture.
Charlotte wants to try a different hairstyle every day.
Ila playing Go Fish with two of the girls in Nicole’s class (I can’t seem to get Nicole to join in for a game):
Thomas was jealous of all the books that I used to help the girls hide their cards, so he joined in with a book:
Isaac and Thomas have been have a lot of fun together this last week. Mostly playing outside in the backyard:
Zach’s sister, Heidi took Nicole out to pick out yarn for a special blanket. She gave Nicole this beautiful blanket just before she left for a trip to Japan.
My boys:
Charlotte still had some leftover curls from the day before which looked nice with her pigtails:
Isaac and Charlotte getting ready for soccer season to start:
Isaac participated in the district knowledge bowl on Saturday. It was early in the morning, but Ila decided at the last minute she wanted to go with us instead of staying with the sitter. I was worried about how she’d do since she was required to be absolutely silent and she hadn’t had breakfast, but she did awesome.
Isaac’s school (Foothill Elementary) sent 3 teams. Isaac was on Foothill 2.
Isaac’s team did awesome. They competed in 4 matches and won each match. Most of them with with about double the points of the team they competed against.
There were 48 teams. They added up the points for the whole day and then the top 10 teams get a medallion and a plaque for their school with their names engraved on it. They don’t rank the top 10 (no 1st, 2nd 3rd, ect), they just listed the top 10 in alphabetical order and Isaac’s team made the cut!
I think this is the first time I french braided Charlotte’s hair which is surprising because I used to french braid my little sister’s hair frequently.
This is her game face. She’s fiercely confident:
A little pregame competition:
Charlotte and Isaac each had their first soccer game of the second half of the season.
