The week started off with Memorial Day. My in-laws got out some big paper flowers that they had been storing since my sister-in-law, Bethani’s wedding reception. The kids ran around and played with them.
We went with my in-laws to a pizza buffet. Afterwards, we went to the Provo Cemetery and left flowers on my grandmother’s grave. Ila decorated her namesake’s grave with orange roses. We also left flowers at my great-grandmother’s grave and my namesake’s (Kathleen O’Bryant) grave, but I forgot to take a picture of Kathleen’s stone. After we got home, Charlotte helped me make some soup. She did a great job chopping everything and adding it.

Charlotte also helped with gardening. For family night, we made treats that Zach brought home from the Asian market in Seattle: Isaac and Evan have been spending a lot of time together. It’s convenient to have a best friend who lives next door. I didn’t notice until later that I captured Evan losing his shoe in this picture: The swings are still a big hit: Isaac and Evan again: Nicole announced to me that 6-year-olds don’t have training wheels so we brought her bike over to her grandparents house to have the training wheels removed. She did pretty well without them, but still needs more practice. Isaac loves showing off on his scooter: I set up a desk area for summer lessons with Nicole and bought her flashcards and worksheets to work on some of the skills where she is weak. The end of school also signaled the end of McKell coming over. I babysat her 4 days a week after kindergarten for the whole school year and we’ll miss her next year when she’s in first grade. My kids really love tablet games lately. They all gather around to watch each other play. Charlotte loves to brush her hair until it’s shinny. She really wants to have blonde hair and she thinks it looks more blonde when she brushes it: The last day of school was only an hour and a half long, so we had a water fun party with some of the kid’s best friends from school and the neighborhood.
I wish I would have counted the kids, we had a lot, but they came and left at different times. We served root beer floats to everyone: Isaac and Charlotte enjoying a game of catch with their grandpa: Zach built me more shelves for the storage room. I really love them.
