Weekly Picture Share (June 9th- June 15th)
Charlotte started Soccer came last week, but I didn’t take any pictures until this week. Camp is two days a week for the month of June from 9:30-11.
While Charlotte was at camp, we played at the park next to the field:
I can’t resist taking a picture when so many kids are gathered around their Dad. I think he was having them scratch his back while he played a tablet game with them.As I mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been tutoring Nicole and it hasn’t gone really well yet. Nicole insisted that lessons happen on the carpet at school, so we moved our lesson upstairs, but before we could get started she insisted that there had to be other students. She wanted me to get real kids, but I was able to convince her to dolls. She would only accept toys that looked like people and Curious George. The lesson mostly went better, but it still fell apart each time we got to the more challenging tasks. She wants to do it on her own and gets angry when I try to teach her how I want her to do it. I’m still working on a solution. On Thursday we went to Seven Peaks with our neighbors. I brought my 5 and she brought 3 of her 4. The 8 kids on the steps were our group: Nicole wanted to go home almost as soon as we got there. I don’t know why she was so anxious to go home. Isaac used his money to rent a two-person inner-tube (Is that the right word? I suddenly can’t remember the name of those things). Isaac practiced being brave on some of the big slides. He would have tried them all, but we weren’t there long enough.
I took my camera along on a walk. The kids always have to stop and swing on the swings that we pass.Puddles are irresistible:Chickens are one of the most important parts of the walk:Charlotte wore two different shoes and at some point she took off one of the shoes and walked the rest of the way with only one shoe and the other shoe hanging off a stick. I have no idea why. They always collect treasures along the way:On Friday, I took the kids to Orem’s Summerfest. I didn’t bring my camera, so the next few pictures are from my phone. Isaac is practicing being brave so he can enjoy Ceder Point when we go to Ohio.
On Friday, it was Laresa’s birthday and we dropped the kids off at the neighbor’s house while the adults went to dinner. It was nice to get out without kids. These boys love each other and I love seeing them have fun together:Once again, I can’t resist taking a picture when all 5 of my kids are together, even if they’re just playing a tablet game together. Our family on Father’s day:Ila kept posing for pictures, so I obliged and took a bunch:Thomas thought it was funny that I was moving his hands so I could take a picture of him not picking his nose. All the kids love to gather around when I bake. Zach requested baked Alaska and despite my fear that it would fail completely, it turned out well and Zach loved it.
Thomas wanted to wear an apron too.I don’t know why they all laid on the floor, but it did take longer than I expected for the egg whites to stiffen. The meringue started to slide off as the ice cream melted. We had to invite lots of neighbors to come over and eat it.
