Day One and Two in Ohio (July 1-2)
I took 186 pictures on my first day in Ohio. Actually I took a little less than that because Zach took some of the pictures with my camera, but I narrowed the pictures down to about 30 from day one to share.
This is Isaac and Charlotte with Uncle Bryan’s Dog (GiGi).
Isaac and Charlotte spent most of day one outside building a fort with their cousin Paul.Ila and Thomas got to know their cousin Asher. They both adored him. For the rest of the visit, they kept asking to hold him and they were so sweet and loving with him. It made me wish I could take him home with me. Thomas with his Grandpa. Krista teased me for taking pictures of Thomas eating cereal, but I contested that he was just so cute eating it that I couldn’t resist and I love that Thomas drinks the milk from the bowl after he eats the cereal. Ila and Isaac in Grandpa Bird’s forest. Grandpa likes to tell them about how they planted the forest during a drought and I had to go out and water the trees so they wouldn’t die. Krista and I ran some errands. We took Michael, Ila, and Asher. Ila kept trying to hold Michael’s hand at the library: They had ice cream at the Little Dipper:Ila knows her mother too well. She kept posing for pictures. “Mom, take a picture of me here” she’d say. Ila and Michael have fun together: Isaac and Charlotte shared a room with Paul and Michael. Here they are taking a break and watching a show together, but I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the cousins together: Ila and Thomas took every chance they could to hold baby Asher: Admittedly, I couldn’t help it either, he’s just so sweet and snugly. Krista organized a big family kickball game in the yard. I like this series of Isaac: I helped Thomas run the bases:(Ila refused to wear her corn palace shirt that day) Thomas preferred to be dragged or carried: On Day 2 Zach and I went to Cedar Point with Isaac, Charlotte, Bryan, Paul, and my Dad. We left my camera at home and Zach is in the middle of writing a post about our day at Cedar Point, so I’ll just share the pictures Krista and my Mom took of the kids while we were gone that day.
Poor Thomas, the pictures tell the all too familiar story: Ila and Thomas never pass up an opportunity to hold Asher:
