Our Elf on The Shelf

This is our Elf on the shelf.  Charlotte picked the name MaryBelle for her.  I know that not everyone is a fan of this tradition, but I love that my kids still believe in magic and this adds a little more magic to the Christmas season.  This tradition also proved to be helpful in getting my hardest to wake up child out of bed because she wanted to be the first to find MaryBelle.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This was how we found MaryBelle on Ila’s birthday:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis one was Charlotte’s favorite, I should have gotten a better picture of all the doodles on the pictures, but you get the idea:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

On the 24th (the Elf’s last day) she left a bag of fruit snacks for each kid and a note.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere is the text of the note:

Isaac, Charlotte, Nicole, Ila, and Thomas-

It has been a lot of fun being your elf this year.  I will miss you.

Tonight I will make my last report to Santa and then hop on his sleigh.

I want you to remember that although Santa watches to see who’s naughty or nice, there’s someone you need to remember to be nice for that’s even more important than Santa.

You should always be good for your Mom and Dad.  I know they love you lots and lots, but there’s someone else who is always watching day and night.  Someone who loves you very much and wants you to be the best that you can be and return to live with Him again someday.  Have you guessed who I’m writing about?  It’s your Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ.  They have given you the best gift ever, better than anything Santa could ever give and all that they ask is that you do your best every day and when you make a mistake, repent and try to make it right.

I know that you are all good children.  Remember to always be the good children that you are inside.

I Love You,

MaryBelle
