The First part of April 2015
This was Nicole’s April Fools day lunch, she was very happy with it!
She dressed like a boy to trick her teachers. She considers Jeans to be “boy clothes.”
This was my minimal effort April Fool’s joke. The kids didn’t even notice. When I pointed it out to Nicole, she asked “Did the Easter Bunny do that?”
I found this fun idea online to make something that looks like a grilled cheese sandwich out of pound cake and frosting, only it didn’t go as well as I had hoped it would. The house smelled too much like cake when the kids got off the bus. They kept trying to figure out where the baked goods were hiding. Since I had to take Isaac to a doctor’s appointment that evening, I had to give them their “grilled cheese sandwich” right after school. It might not have fooled them, but they sure thought it was yummy!
Ila has been asking to make banana bread for about a month. We finally fulfilled that request last week. We made three loves which were all eaten by the next day. We made three more loves a few days later and they were gobbled up almost as quick as the first ones.
I even let the kids crack the eggs! (I had to pick entire shells out of the batter afterwards). Here’s our old fridge. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the fridge we bought about a month before.
Apparently “free delivery” only means they’ll bring it to your house. They left it in a box in our driveway. We had to take it out of the box and disassemble the doors to bring it into the house.
Once we move that black lightswitch box, we’ll be able to push the fridge all the way back and it will stick out less.
Nicole is good at swinging, but the swing-set kept wobbling which made her nervous so she kept watching the swing-set as she swung.
The Easter Bunny left one small gift for each child and candy tossed about the rug. My mom gave me a little bit of a hard time because she always gets the credit for Easter and the Easter Bunny gave leftover candy from the day after Easter sale last year. My children are convinced that on Easter, Grandma Bunny turns into an actual bunny and hops around delivering candy.
Grandma Bunny always sends an Easter card to each child. I have encouraged the idea that she is the Easter Bunny by leaving her cards next to their Easter things.
This was my Easter Sunday afternoon. Watching General Conference and making rolls.
Nicole got an art project and spent hours making things. Usually when I ask her to look at the camera for a picture, this is the face I get. She turns her head to the camera but keeps her eyes on something else.
With a little additional prompting, I actually got her to look at the camera.
Here’s a still photo of our puzzle competition (I posted videos in my last post).
They also tried a competition to see who could put a puzzle together with their feet the fastest.
The children have been on Spring Break this week. I took them Swimming at the Orem Fitness Center on Monday:
On Tuesday my oldest kids went to their friend’s house and then we all went to the Park.
On Wednesday we drove to Vegas to visit my sisters. I am working on a separate post to share the pictures from our trip.
These pictures are from my phone, so they didn’t make it in my March post, but I thought I’d share them anyway.
Both Isaac and Charlotte joined the Robotic’s club. These pictures were from their last meeting. They are using a computer to program their robots.
And here’s a random church selfie. I’m not much of a selfie person, but Ila likes to take selfies and then color on them with a coloring program.
