Can you tell I’ve given up on titles for my posts. I used to try to be just a little bit more creative.
This is Nicole with her helmet, sword, and shield. I thought it was a creative combination.
I had to take a picture of Isaac with his latest Lego creations. Since this picture, he has spent some time fortifying his bridge.
Ila and Charlotte have also been enjoying building with Legos.
Isaac has been lonely while his best friend is at his Dad’s house. A few times Isaac has invited some kids from the neighborhood to play, but most of the time I can’t talk him into inviting a friend over. He says he only wants to play with Evan (his best friend) or his sisters. He even turned down a Nerf war invitation the other day. When some of Charlotte’s friends came over, their older sister played with Isaac. He enjoyed playing with her enough that we scheduled a few more times for them to play together while Charlotte was playing with her other friends.
I made Naan for the first time and it worked out well.
My kids got to spend some time at the park with their best friends when they came home for a few hours on Monday.
Nicole brought her bike to the park and spent the entire time riding circles around the park.
Nicole woke up bursting with enthusiasm and attitude on this particular day.
The neighbors got to spend pioneer day with their mom. We made the most of our time together. Here are the kids being intrigued by an old fashioned popcorn popper.
I made a few flavors of caramel corn. This one is called Caramel Cina-bun Popcorn.
This is Ila waiting for her chicken to cook. I was surprised at how long she was willing to sit and watch the timer tick down. Then when the chicken was done, she did a happy dance.
We had a BBQ with my in-laws and the neighbors. Nicole only wanted carrot sticks and pickle relish to dip them in, she’s a strange girl.
The girls put balls in their shirts. I couldn’t look at Nicole without remembering a dream I had over a year ago when we were waiting for the results of her testing. We had waited 8 months to have her go through this intensive evaluation and in the days preceding our results appointment, I had a dream that the only result they had was that she is pregnant. It was the worst possible result because I not only didn’t have any answers, I had to figure out how to guide Nicole through pregnancy and childbirth as well has figure out who had impregnated her.
When it got dark, we gathered blankets and set up for an outdoor movie. We projected Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons on the fence and ate caramel corn. It was so pleasant and perfect that I wished I could get a picture, but it was too dark to fully capture the scene..
The next day the girls decorated their stuffed animals with ribbons and put on a fancy pet show.
The girls decided they should all wear these cat ears that were leftover from a birthday party a few years ago.
The cat attacked some of their decorations to the amusement of all.
These three girls are such fantastic friends. I love to see how much they enjoy being together.
