July 25th to August 1, 2015
We took the family up to Cottonwood Heights for the birthday party of a friend’s daughter. She had a frozen theme and lots of fun themed activities.
They made snowballs with a shaving cream, glitter, cornstarch mixture.
Thomas fell asleep on the way to the party and then woke up grumpy. Isaac cheered him up with bubbles.
I’m having too much fun with making gourmet popcorn. This was a caramel marshmallow blend and it was fantastically gooey.
I took a picture of my kitchen floor right after I mopped it because it had been a frustrating morning and I was trying to make myself feel accomplished. It’s sometimes exhausting to put so many hours into cleaning things that only stay clean such a short time. Charlotte’s best friend is a girl named Alyssa. Alyssa’s dad is a chemistry professor at BYU so when I got a text that he was going to put on a chemistry magic show for the kids, we loaded up the van and drove to campus for the show. Here are Charlotte and Ila with Haven and Alyssa:
Here are the boys. Just as we were loading up in the car, one of the neighbor boys was coming over to play so we invited him to join us.They are putting balloons into liquid nitrogen.
Nicole was worried about what would happen and dropped her balloon almost immediately and ran away. On the way back down the hill after the show, the children enjoyed exploring all the fountains, rocks, and flowers. We spent some time at the duck pond at the bottom of the hill.
There were lots of turtles in there and several baby ducks as well.Isaac was so excited about Windows 10. We had three computers racing to install it and Isaac sat there and watched the competition. Ila’s computer won, but Isaac’s came in second.Thomas likes to play this addition Bingo game, but he doesn’t know how to add many numbers. I taught Ila how to use a calculator so they didn’t have to keep asking me for the answers.August 1st was Isaac’s best friend (Evan)’s birthday. Our whole family was invited to go bowling with them. Nicole was funny to watch, but she moved to fast to capture in pictures. She did everything with enthusiasm and danced around as she bowled.
I love the freckles on Charlotte’s nose. I don’t know why I love them so much, but I do.
After bowling we had cake and pizza. Isaac was super excited to give Evan a remote control helicopter that he had picked out. After the party, they had a manicure, water fun, bubble blowing party. (Don’t ask me how that all fits together, but for some reason they wore swimsuits and had their nails painted by the older girls).
